For anyone that watches Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise, you might have been jealous of the women who are able to spend their weekends in party buses as they go on beer tours, nightclub hops, and wine tastings.
What you might not realize is that party bus rental fun isn’t something only rich, reality TV stars can afford. Party buses can be a great way to celebrate a special event, or just spend quality time with some of your friends. Here are three party planning tips for arranging cheap party bus rentals.
1. How Much is a Party Bus Rental?
Party bus rental cost depends on several factors. The size of the party bus (as determined by the number of passengers), the time of day you’ll be traveling, and the amount of time you plan to rent one for are all factors that affect overall price. On average, a daily brewery tour that lasts for about five hours and accommodates 15 people will cost about $100 per hour, for a total of $500. This might seem like a lot, but it actually averages out to only $35 a person. Not bad for an entire afternoon of fun!
2. Planning Ahead for Alcohol
People often assume industry standards for party buses that just aren’t true. Not every company operates the same, so make no assumptions about the rules regarding alcohol and other beverages. Check beforehand if you would like the company to provide you with drinks, or if you would like to bring your own into the vehicle. Overall, most, though not all, companies will encourage you to bring your own drinks, and they will hold you accountable if any major spills occur.
3. Little Details to Look Out For
The tip for your driver isn’t always included in the final price, and the typical tip is 15% to 20% of the cost of services. If you end up having the example bill of $500, this would amount to between $75 and $100, or about $7 per person at the most. Remember to collect money for tips before starting the ride, otherwise, you might end up covering for friends who go through their cash during the adventure. Another detail to look out for: consider your music for the evening. Your driver should be able to accommodate either CDs or iPods if you’re prefer to personalize the experience.
